Olivia Vun

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Olivia is a compassionate speech-language pathologist assistant who enjoys servicing clients across the lifespan.

Prior to relocating to the Greater Vancouver Area, Olivia worked as a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist in Sydney, Australia since graduating from the University of Sydney in 2016. She is experienced working with clients in person and through telehealth. Olivia has worked in various settings, including private practice (clinic-based interventions), schools, disability group homes, and aged care facilities. Her current range of clinical expertise includes multimodal communication (augmentative and alternative communication), speech, language, early language, literacy, fluency (stuttering), and dysphagia management (swallowing) within the adult and paediatric populations. Olivia enjoys providing education and training to families, caregivers, support workers, early childhood educators, teachers, nurses, and staff at aged care facilities.

Olivia strongly advocates for neurodiversity-affirming practices and employs robust evidence within her practice. She strongly believes in capitalising on each individual’s strength and empowering them and their networks to increase their overall quality of life. She enjoys working collaboratively with other speech pathologists and cross-discipline health professionals to ensure the best outcome for her clients.

Olivia is a Hanen-certified speech-language pathologist in the More Than Words program. She is also trained to deliver the Lidcombe Program for children younger than 6 years of age with a stutter. Olivia speaks English, conversational Malay, and conversational Mandarin.

Outside of work, you will find Olivia travelling the world with her spouse, volunteering at animal shelters, exploring new places, doing yoga or Pilates, reading a good book, or watching historical documentaries.
