Jazmine Kennedy

Volunteer

Jazmine is a fourth-year university student in her final semester at Simon Fraser University,
completing a degree in English with a minor in Curriculum and Instruction. Throughout her academic
journey, she has contributed to several research publications on important contemporary topics,
including academic integrity in the era of artificial intelligence.

Beyond her studies, Jazmine dedicated four years to working with Jack.org, a youth mental health
nonprofit, where she helped facilitate mental health summits across British Columbia and Alberta.
These events brought together youth, educators, and professionals to promote awareness and
support for mental health challenges facing young people.

Throughout her university years, Jazmine has also worked as a nanny, caring for babies and
toddlers, which has developed a deep passion for one-on-one support and early childhood
development. This hands-on experience, combined with over six years of experience working with
children—including three years as an after-school art teacher—has strengthened her commitment to
nurturing children’s growth in a compassionate and supportive way.

Driven by this passion, Jazmine plans to pursue a career as a pediatric speech-language pathologist
after graduation, with a focus on helping children improve their communication skills and thrive
socially, emotionally, and academically.
