Franchesca Camangian

Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Franchesca (Chesca) graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. Before moving to Vancouver, she practiced as a certified Speech-Language Pathologist in the Philippines for almost three years, working in hospital and pediatric clinic settings and supporting neurodiverse individuals across the lifespan. Her clinical experience includes early intervention, play-based therapy, language disorders, and motor speech disorders.

Chesca has been practicing as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLP-A) in British Columbia for over three years. She is passionate about neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based, and relationship-based care, with a focus on creating supportive environments where clients can communicate, connect, and build confidence. Her approach is grounded in the belief that meaningful communication develops through connection, engagement, and supportive relationships. She is particularly interested in sensory-informed and play-based approaches that follow each child’s individual strengths, interests, and communication style.

Chesca has completed Intro to DIRFloortime® 101 and attended the International DIRFloortime® Conference in Union, New Jersey, in March 2026 as one of the clinical practitioners representing Canada. This experience further strengthened her interest in relationship-based and sensory-informed approaches to supporting children and their families. She is also certified in Oral Placement Therapy Level 1 through TalkTools and continues to expand her knowledge through ongoing professional development and evidence-based practices.

Fluent in both English and Tagalog, Chesca enjoys building genuine connections with her clients and families. She looks forward to continuing to learn, grow, and deepen her clinical practice in Canada.
