Alexinnie Tran

Alexinnie is a fifth year student at Simon Fraser University, where she is working to complete a
Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics. She has a deep interest in Speech Sciences, specifically the
development of linguistic acquisition in children.

When not participating in classes at the university, Alexinnie works as a lifeguard and swim
instructor, primarily teaching swimmers between the ages of 4 months to 14 years. This has
provided her with a unique experience in being able to support learning for a wide range of ages
and neurodivergent identities, as well as working one-on-one or in larger groups. With more than seven
years of working with children in developing their skills, she has gained a strong understanding
of how to best adapt to a child’s individual needs.

Alexinnie is very excited to be volunteering at the clinic and working with the team of
experienced professionals. She looks forward to connecting with and contributing to an
engaging environment where families and children can receive the proper support towards
language development. Outside of work and school, Alexinnie enjoys baking desserts to share
with friends and family and working on various crochet projects.
